Thank you for the info, Peter! If the taxonomy wasn't a part of this equation...is there *another* way to ensure that when choosing associated CPT-Bs (from CPT-A), that the user is able only choose one, and conversely, be able to choose unlimited CPT-As (from CPT-B)? If there is a video tutorial on how this sort of thing works, please share a link...still learning...

To avoid ambiguity, I'm asking if anyone can suggest how I can exclude the taxonomy from the editor such that I can force the either/or choice of the necessary terms: either "solo" or "group" AND maintain the conditional appearance of other field groups.

This is a desirable feature. It may also be helpful to have a way to duplicate a field group (which would auto-append the ID with some standard prefix or suffix) that could then be tailored with different settings for use with a different CPT.

Addition: I have found that the show/hide ONLY works when the taxonomy is hierarchical AND appears in the editor. I'm also seeing a field group that will not appear even though it meets the condition. I have no idea why. Hoping this is helpful.

Thank you, it was, in fact, a hidden required field. I'd thought a field group toggled off by taxonomy would not force the requirement.
