    I don't think it's possible since multiple selections get saved into the db a non unique value that isn't indexed. The only real option is a group of selections which you may run into other issues.

    I would consider this a bug, and not a feature. I know there are ways to handle required fields only when visible. Hopefully it's something you can work into in an upcoming release.

    If I had time to work on this I would. Might i suggest looking into Gravity Forms as they integration this into their conditional logic extension in 2011.

    That's what I figured. Just wanted to verify.

    If that is ever a priority, I would suggest implementing that option since using the WordPress namespace isn't advised.
