Thanks Peter, that would be amazing. In the meantime, I found I can fetch and update views over custom REST endpoints. Posting this mini-plugin here for anyone interested:

Thanks, but it seems this problem corrected itself with the WP 6.7.1 update. All good now.

Hi Peter,

Any update on this? I believe it also affects singular posts/pages/cpts when set to "all". The only way I can get my catch-all page template to work is by using code (is_singular('page')) – but then it overrides all specific page templates, even when they have a lower order.

(Also, the callback is triggered by a button click so I guess it shouldn't matter where it is inserted?)

Thank you, that is good to know. I changed to init with priority 100 but it still doesn't recognize the shortcode. Same for all other hooks I tried. Shortcodes from other plugins work as expected. I don't see anything in the MB docs related to this.
