My goal is to show a custom field group metabox on only a specific custom taxonomy term I created.

The options for Location are: Post Type, Taxonomy, User, Settings Page.

Logically, I selected Taxonomy. Then I open Advanced Location Rules, and the only options are User, User Role, and Custom.

So I went down a rabbit hole and spent a good bit of time learning how I would need to use code snippets to create a function that returned true false... on and on and on. BUT... then, i saw this...

When I left Location as Post type, the Advanced Location Rules have the full list of options for targeting, including spoecific terms.

Not sure if this is a bug, but it certainly confusing to have both Location and Advanced Targeting Rules enabled at the same time. Which takes precedence? I leave Location Rules as its default of Post Type, but leave the type selection blank, then all my advanced Location Rules populate.

    Hello,

Actually, it's not a bug. The extension MB Include Exclude supports loading a field group for a specific post based on the condition as in the documentation https://docs.metabox.io/extensions/meta-box-include-exclude/
not for a specific term as you mention. I will inform the development team to consider supporting this feature in future updates.

    Thanks.
