    Hello,
    I made a change to a custom field input description today.

    After changing the text, a new form submission causes a new blog post to be created instead of a custom post as usual.

    I rolled the website back to the most recent backup but don't know how to begin troubleshooting this problem.

    Hello Leora,

    I think the issue occurs when you make a change to the field group and the post type is set back to Post by default, screenshot https://imgur.com/apNRYXJ
    You can try to follow this tutorial to increase the PHP setting max_input_vars to fix the issue
