Conditional Logic in Taxonomy "select_tree"

Hi,

I replied to someone else's question about this a couple of days ago, but it seems not be getting a response.

Here is a link to the topic, in which it was stated that it doesn't work, but that perhaps a working solution might be released in (November 2017).

I can understand the difficulty, however this would be a tremendously useful feature..

Is it something that can be investigated further, or has the concept been abandoned?
