I have the client upload images using Image Advanced and display them in a gallery on the front end via Beaver Themer connector from an image gallery Beaver Builder module. That works perfectly.

The problem is that if the image has a caption field filled out, although it displays correctly below the image in the gallery on the front end, the caption does NOT display in the thumbnail grid in the Image Advanced metabox when editing the post. This is confusing to the client since they can edit the image, put in a caption and it does not show up when editing. But it does show up on the front end in the gallery display for that post.

Am I missing something obvious, or do I need some customization to get the captions to show in the metabox when editing the post?

    Hi,

There are many fields of the image beside the caption - alt text, title, description, file URL even custom fields for the attachment so the field image_advanced and other image fields only support to show the thumbnail when editing post. The user can edit the image's fields by clicking to the pen when hovering the image https://share.getcloudapp.com/4gu985n4.

The problem is the client clicks on the pencil to edit the caption field and enters the caption for an image, and then returns to editing the post, but doesn’t see the caption that they just entered. In our case we are only using the caption field and none of the other image fields. The caption field is what is used to display on the front end. So the client can update the post go to the front end and see the caption, and then if they have to adjust it they have to go back and edit the post, edit the image, update the post, go back to front end to verify. And then they have to do that same process for each image in the gallery.

In our case we have an artist collective with over 300 artists each editing their own page with up to 20 images in the gallery for each artist. It would make things so much easier if there were away to display the caption field before clicking the edit button.

    Hi,

Thanks for the idea, I'm going to create a feature request for the developer team to support showing the images' fields under the thumbnail.
