    Hi Tran - I'm in quite a bind, as I need to export posts from one site to another (including its custom taxonomies as well). However, when I go to the site, then Tools > Export, and then select Activities (the cpt), I don't get any options, such as Categories, Status, etc.. And yes, the "Can export?" setting has a flag.

    It exports an XML that contains nothing.

    Please help! And FYI, I'm needing to export posts manually because I'm currently having an issue with my normal API (not related to metabox 🙂 ). And until it's fixed, my site can't get updated.

    Hi Sam,

    AFAIK, the filters (categories, statuses, dates, etc.) are available for Posts and Pages only. They're not available for other custom post types.

    I don't understand about the "flag". Probably it's another thing? Can you share a screenshot?

    Tran - You can see screenshot below, or link to it here. I think it's crazy that WP doesn't support filters for anything beyond Posts and Page, etc. Meanwhile, I have 0 results from my unfiltered export file.

    Hi Tran - I think I figured it out...it's essentially timing-out because the file is too large...approx. 25K posts, and then system is getting overwhelmed as it has to download the entire database, instead of the few hundred Drafts that I have. Chrome was timing out the site, where Safari was somehow exporting an XML file with 0 kb.

    So...I downloaded WP All Export & Import plugin, and it's allowing me this functionality (filters). Sucks that CPTs can't inherit the filters from Posts and Pages.

    So I'm OK.
