how to check the unique value for the custom meta?

like product sku? sku value is unique.

Unfortunately, this is not supported for now. But you can hook to the before save action and perform a check for the value.

Hi. Is there a code example on how to do that exactly i.e. how to display a message to the user when they have entered a previously used value. Thanks!
