Hi,
My user name is buzzmn and I've purchased the core extension bundle and I've just seen that a new extension has been published but I see no way to download from my account section, otherwise is included in the core extension bundle. Is it a bug or I can't really download it.
Thanks for you attention!
Hi buzzmn,
The reason you don't see the new extensions in the download bundle is at the time your purchased the bundle with a lower price, the extensions have not been published. When new extensions are added to the bundle, the price increase. So you purchased for the current extensions at that moment. The new bundle requires higher price. Please understand that the bundle doesn't guarantee all current and future extensions. It has current extensions with a corresponding price.
I though that we paid $99 as it costs now, so I really though I could use this awesome new new extensions instead of another extensions alternative use this features...
I don't think so :(. You purchased the bundle on Sep 30 last year. Since then, 3 premium extensions were added to the bundle (Settings Page, Term Meta and Admin Columns). The price at that time was $79 only.
You really should offer the new plugins as part of the Core Extension Bundle, so that we can continue to have the benefits of purchasing it. I'm happy to pay a higher renewal rate when it comes renewal time to make up for the new additions, but how are we now, before our renewal period, able to upgrade the core extension bundle to keep an easy to update license available?
I'd like to have access to the new extensions that have been added since my bundle purchase, but for the sake of easy updates/renewal, I'd prefer to do so all under the core bundle, instead of buying the bundle and then, afterwards, buying every extension you release later separately. It can start to make the bundle a bit of a headache rather than a perk.
Thanks @qco for your opinion. Actually I have some extensions in the queue and many to come. I don't think 1 core extension bundle can cover them all as the price will increase a lot. While it might suit you, it might fail for others. In stead of putting all in 1 the current core bundle which is already sold to many users, I'm thinking about:
1. Releasing other bundles as well. This will be done after some extensions are released.
2. Create a membership plan where users can get access to all current and FUTURE bundles.
I'm still thinking and haven't made any decision yet. It's more a business aspect than development aspect.
Personally, I'd happily pay a reasonable membership fee for the additional stuff, just because managing extension renewals on an individual basis is a tremendous hassle, and one less thing I'd rather deal with. These kinds of things are what make some of the competition (ACF, for example) seem a lot more appealing (and at the current cost, I'm already evaluating ACF Pro to move my current Meta Box capabilities to). One license to manage and utilize, not several disparate ones as the extensions grow.
So, the only option right now is to buy any of the new extensions I may want outright?
Hi Anh, just saw the Developer Bundle release! Fantastic, thanks, exactly what I was looking for! Great response. Before I purchase, is there any upgrade from the core extension bundle? Just asking since my Core Bundle hasn't expired yet.
