I tried to create a MB block with field where people can select few product categories. Selection works properly, but there are two problems:
1. selected categories are not stored in block data (are not accessible in block template)
2. selected categories are visible only in editor + they are same for all blocks (also with different IDs, but same field settings) on specific page

The field taxonomy does not work with custom block or group field because it set post terms, no field value is saved. If you want to use the taxonomy selection, please use the field taxonomy_advanced.
