Hello, first post and fairly new to Meta Box so apologies if I've missed a solution to this from lack of understanding.

I have a full version of Meta Box AIO and what I'm looking to do is to add a post type onto an existing post type - there's probably a better way to say that so it might help if I illustrate what I need:

I am developing a site to archive the homilies and writings of a Central American saint and martyr called Oscar Romero. In fact I'm re-writing in WordPress a site that was originally written in Drupal. In the Drupal site there is a CPT called 'homilies-and-writings' and then another one off of that called 'homilies' then other ones off of that for different years and various other topics.

You can see an example in the Drupal site here:

http://www.romerotrust.org.uk/homilies-and-writings/homilies/motivation-love (sorry, not https it seems)

On the site I'm trying to recreate I can only seem to get to the 'homilies-and-writings' level of CPT and don't then know what to do. I add 'homilies' as a post and that's fine but how do I then get the next level of content coming off that, the page called Motivation of Love?

Here's my development site for it -

    https://romerotrust.caledonianwebsites.com/homilies-and-writing/homilies/

I've copied and pasted the first few items for the 'homilies' page and you can see the hyper links on there will take you to the relevant page in Drupal and that's the page I want to recreate in WordPress. I'll eventually change the Nameservers and import the development site using All-in-one-WP-migration so that the pages all map correctly.

Anyway, apologies again if I'm in the wrong place or if the answer is already in the forum.

    Thanks for any help given.

    Chris

    Hello Chris,

WordPress itself doesn't support creating a post type of a post type like that. Each post type is working independently from other post types.

Using Meta Box, you can use MB Relationships to set a connection between posts of 2 post types. But it doesn't support customizing the post type URL as on your Drupal site.
    Please follow the documentation https://docs.metabox.io/extensions/mb-relationships/

    Thanks Peter,

that's very helpful and saves me hours of head-scratching! I'll just give those homilies their own post type and though I presume there will probably be some SEO unhappiness initially once the domain is transferred I guess it will settle fairly soon.

Very grateful for your help and clarity.

    All the best,

    Chris
