I am wondering about using Metabox to create a Knowledge base that may end up containing hundreds or maybe thousands of articles. What would the website performance be like with a large knowledge base? I would probably use something like SearchWP for search functionality. But would potentially use Metabox for the custom post types and parent categories and such. Any advice you can give me on this? Anything special I should be doing to make this work well?

Hello Brent,

In your case, Meta Box helps you to create custom post types and you can create more articles under that post type, like the Post of WordPress. You will need to use other plugins or custom code to show them in the frontend, search, filter, optimization ...
Instead of creating everything from scratch, you can use some Knowledge Base plugins and focus only on building content, output arciles in the fronted is easier.
