    Hi, I recently set up a website that uses WPML. I wanted to check if there is a way in which I can always ensure that the CPT always uses the fields set up in the main language, even if there is an update.

    Hello,

    I do not fully understand your question. Do you mean to use the field group in the main language? The field group should not be translated. Please follow the documentation below to translate the custom field value.

    Hi, apologies for not being clear in the question. I would like that the custom fields from the primary language, English, are never translated.

    So if I set up a CPT in English and duplicate it to create the_content() for it in Spanish, when I later go back to edit/update the English custom fields which I create by Metabox, the Spanish language custom fields would also be updated, just like English.

    I hope this explains the question better.

    Hello,

    Follow step 3 in the documentation https://metabox.io/translate-custom-fields-with-wpml/#step-3-set-up-wpml-plugin-to-translate-custom-fields
    you can set the custom field to "Don't translate" to not translate the field value.

    For further assistance, I recommend contacting WPML support. They will know how to translate or not translate the custom field.
