    Hi -

    I have 2 questions:

    Question #1

I'm building a site to serve as an 'app' system for a client, so we are many CPTs and custom taxonomies in use. But I was wondering...

If I us MB to make new User Profile fields, are these new fields only available on the front-end User form, or can they be added to the default Users profile area in WP Admin?

    Question #2

Does MB allow me to create custom taxonomies that only apply to specific User Roles?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thank you for getting in touch.

    1. The main aim of MB User Meta is to create custom fields for users in the backend, the frontend is optional with MB User Profile. But the fields available in the backend when editing the user, not when creating new. I've informed the development team to support this.

    2. No, it just helps you to create taxonomies. You can use a third-party plugin to manage the accessibility of user roles, such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/.

    Hi Long -

Regarding item #1 above - thanks for adding this! As you know the backend for the User profile is messy and contains many unnecessary fields. But having the ability to add new profile fields directly in the backend when creating new users would be great!

Regarding item #2 above - I actually found a good example for adding taxonomies to User Roles. it's a bit long, but it works, and it saves the meta in the db. I'm happy to share if you think it helpful.

    Have a great day!

For adding custom taxonomies to WP Users in backend

Here you go. Found this article and it actually worked. I don't love the format of the new taxonomy form <multi> select. I think a radio list would be better.

enjoy! thanks for all your help Lon 🙂
