    if I add a field to an existing CF structure and click on update, then the entire structure is broken.
    the structure is quite large

    Hello,

    Do you mean to add a field to an existing field group? If yes, please try to increase the PHP setting max_input_vars and see if it helps. Read more about the PHP setting in the documentation https://metabox.io/wordpress-custom-fields-not-saving-increase-max-input-vars/
