    Hi,
    I would like to change the name of a post type, but when I do that all posts disappear, so I changed it back, posts were back too.
    Please advise on how to change the name of a post type the save way.

    Hi Paul,

    You can change the Plural name, Singular name to another but you have to keep the current CPT slug to make the current posts available. Refer to this article https://metabox.io/move-custom-post-type-custom-field-data-from-pods-to-meta-box/

    Thanks Long! As a workaround I renamed my blog page slug to 'weblog' so I was able to keep the post type slug to 'blog'. It's not ideal at all but next time I won't make the mistake of using a custom post type slug name that I need for urls slugs too.
    Should you know of a better workaround please let me know.

    Another way, you can use the plugin Post Type Switcher to switch the post type https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/
