Changed CPT Slug and lost all posts - Meta Box

I needed to change the post type Aritists to Artists. I changed it and lost all the posts. I had to restore from a backup. How can I change the slug from:

example.com/aritists/postname

to:

example.com/artist/postname

without losing all the posts again.

You can use the plugin Post Type Switcher to change the CPT slug without losing the post
