Support › MB Custom Post Type › CPTUI Migration - Icon missing from wordpress sidebarResolved
As title, I've migrated a post type and tax from CPT-UI, all went well, the data is intact, but the icon is simply missing from the WP Navbar.
All caches local and server cleared, logged out and back in, still no joy.
Hello,
Which icon type do you use when creating CPT with CPT UI? For now, you can simply edit the CPT with Meta Box and set the icon in the Advanced tab.
Sorry I should have been clearer - the entire post type is missing from the sidebar. The content is still displaying but there is no way to get to the posts.
Hello,
Can you access the single CPT? Please share some screenshots when you go to Meta Box > Post Types > edit the CPT > Advanced tab.
Hello,
Please share your site credentials via this contact form https://metabox.io/contact/
I will take a look.
It's not a site that's internet facing, because it's an internal reporting site for aid projects containing sensitive data.
To be honest I was forced into metabox because it supports grid builder and I needed faceted filtering, so I had to find a way to replace Essential Grid which has its own meta engine.
I went down this route to do without an additional plugin. What I didn't realise was that you had to add the php to functions manually (FYI your generated php is missing '' in several places, which results in errors). Once I'd done that I got the post type back but without the ability to edit posts. At that point, I gave up and went back to CPTUI - it's just better/easier than mucking around with functions every 5 minutes.
Also, I can't deal with mission-critical support that gets one reply every 24 hours. I have clients to satisfy.
Thanks for your feedback.
In general, I still don't know what causes the issue or how it happens there. The generated PHP code might not affect the functionality of the UI of Meta Box.
Let me know if you have more questions.
