Custom post type contains one custom field which is a url hosted off site. The icon and title display in the posts module of elementor but when I try to open the url its linked to, I get page not found.

I've searched but not found this issue.

    Please advise.

Note, I've just joined the fb group to try and find other suggestions. Just tried resaving permalinks but that hasn't solved the problem.

Sorry, after resaving permalinks the title of the Custom post is visible but the custom field "url" is not.

Ok, so as I try to figure this out I realize I'm not asking the right question.

The custom post type I've created contains a heading and a url link to a pdf hosted on MEGA.

How can I open the external PDF when I click on the custom post type?

    Thanks

Where am I supposed to put the code?

Why have a url field if I have to use code somewhere else?

At this time not even a URL appears on the front end.

    It doesn't make sense.

    Hi,

Please follow this documentation to know how to output the field value https://docs.metabox.io/displaying-fields/

The URL field helps you to add different URLs for each post instead of adding hard code to the template file.
