    Hi,
    I want to build link directory with Metabox - something like this: https://mzworks.org/wordpress/plugins/useful-links-collections/

    Main assumptions:

    • each link in directory just opens target page when pressed in new window
    • each link has its own tooltip (description of the link on hovering over the mouse)
    • ach link has its own custom icon (favicon)
    • link categories can be sorted and filtered
    • Ideally, it would be possible to upvote/downvote each link (with counters)

    Sorry to revive an old post, but you really didn't answer the question as to if it is possible to create a link directory with metabox. I'm assuming so by creating custom post types and taxonomies as well as custom fields, but I'm unsure that the complexity that would be required to display such data such as ratings, etc. Additionally, I'm also not sure about the search or facet capability as I didn't have much luck with FacetWP and haven't tried SearchWP. So would you be able to give any pointers or suggestions as to how one would approach this? I understand the permalinks and have that solved with permalinks manager Pro.

    Hi AJ,

    Sorry, it might be the wrong topic. Yes, we can create a list of links like that (a cloneable group of image, URL). But Meta Box just helps you to output the field value added from the backend to the frontend so you need to create custom code to display features like sort/filter, upvote/downvote the link.
