    When updating (for any reason) the original language version of a product, all "image advanced" custom fields as follows:

    • when using "Copy once", "Do not translate" or "Translate" for custom fields in WPML: the images are emptied in all translations
    • when using "Copy" for custom fields in WPML: the original language images get copied to all translations and meta (title, description, etc) are not translated on the front-end despite existing translations

    I would like to:
    a) either automatically copy the translated images to the respective translation
    b) or allow me to manually set images without deleting them upon every edit of the origin

    Everything is updated to the latest versions. It appears this is part of the problem as with WPML Media Translation 2.5.3 (and the corresponding older other plugins) this behaviour is not seen and updating the origin product/post does not overwrite the images of the other translations - it behaved as b) above.

    The problem is NOT present with text fields or the product image.

    Have you encountered such issues and what could be causing them? There no PHP errors.

    Thanks Long but would this also make the images show on the back-end in the translated posts or is it just a solution for the front-end? In my case the images are missing in the back-end and hence in the front-end as well.

    Hi,

    As you can see on my screen record, it works on both backend and frontend. When editing the translation post, you can add the images for this post. I'm not sure if WPML can help to automatically populate the translated images (image ID) for this field, you can contact WPML support to ask for help with this case.
