Adding fields to Featured Image metabox - Meta Box

I'd like to hook into and extend the Featured Image Meta Box that comes with WordPress. Is that possible?

WordPress uses _thumbnail_id meta key for the thumbnail. Its value is the ID of the featured image. So you can totally use any of image fields for it.
