    Hi Meta Box team,

I am a huge advocate for Meta Box AIO. From an engineering standpoint, it is vastly superior, leaner, and much faster than heavy competitors like ACF and Crocoblock. However, there is a major bottleneck preventing massive adoption among developers here in Brazil: the language barrier.

We are now seeing newer tools like ACPT entering the market with fully internationalized strings from day one. If Meta Box addresses its localization gaps, it will become the absolute standard here, because your performance and architectural advantages are already unmatched.

I want to help you achieve this. I have two important points regarding the pt_BR localization:

    1. Untranslatable Strings (Hardcoded in the UI)
I recently completed a 100% translation of the plugin's local .po file. Despite this, several strings in the interface remain in English. This indicates that these specific strings are hardcoded and not properly internationalized (wrapped in standard WP translation functions like __() or _e()).
If your dev team is open to it, I can thoroughly map out and send you a list of where these hardcoded strings are located so they can be fixed in an upcoming patch.

    2. Abandoned pt_BR GlotPress Project & PTE Proposal
About 9 months ago, I submitted a batch of translations on translate.wordpress.org. They are still sitting as "Suggested". As you can see in this screenshot ([https://ibb.co/RGqrhwV0](https://ibb.co/RGqrhwV0)), the current Translation Editors for Brazil haven't been active in 7 to 11 years. The translation project is effectively abandoned for our locale.

I have extensive experience translating complex WordPress ecosystems for the Brazilian market. I would love to volunteer to become the PTE (Project Translation Editor) for the pt_BR locale for Meta Box.

Here are my WordPress.org details for the PTE nomination:

    **Username:** @jayroncastro

    **Profile Link:** [https://profiles.wordpress.org/jayroncastro/](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jayroncastro/)

With a fully internationalized UI and an active PTE approving translations, we can make Meta Box significantly more attractive to Brazilian agencies who currently default to ACF or Crocoblock purely out of language convenience.

Let me know how we can proceed with the hardcoded strings report and the PTE nomination process!

    Best regards,

    Hello Jayron,

Thank you for your contribution. However, I'm afraid that we don't have permission to approve your translation. You can follow the WordPress documentation to submit the PTE request https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/plugin-theme-authors-guide/pte-request/

    Good luck.

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I will handle the PTE nomination directly with the Brazilian Polyglots team on my end as you suggested.

However, the most critical technical point from my previous message (Point 1) was completely overlooked. This is not about translation approval; this is a **bug report regarding the plugin's core code**.

Several strings within the Meta Box interface are hardcoded. They are missing the standard WordPress internationalization functions (like __() or _e()). Because of this flaw, it is technically impossible to translate them via GlotPress or .po files, regardless of who the PTE is.

Could you please escalate this specific technical issue to the core development team (or directly to Anh Tran)? I am offering my time for free to map out exactly where these hardcoded strings are located in your files so your engineers can properly wrap them for localization in an upcoming patch.

Looking forward to hearing from the dev team.

    Best regards,

    Jayron Castro

    Hello,

Yes, if it is possible, please share the list with me: strings and locations. I will forward it to the development team to check and fix them all.

    Thank you.
